If you’ve been following this blog or radio show for a while you should know that I absolutely adore this band and their brilliant and fun pop music. They posted what is written here a week ago on their Facebook. Also attached is their next single to be relased, #1. Needless to say, I’m absolutely stoked for this record seeing as I’ve heard over half of the songs to be released and they are all brilliant. October 9th will be a glorious day for indie pop!

In what an amateur Texan blogger is callling, “The best freakin’ deal ever”, Indietracks is offering a 50-track compilation for only ₤1. Americans, that’s only $1.55. Give up a soda for a day and this is yours. If you’ve never listened to indie pop and are looking to dive into it or you are just looking for some new music you will not find a better chance than this.

Buy the compilation at Indietracks’ bandcamp here. And don’t forget, Indietracks 2012 is happening July 6-8 in Derbyshire. More info is available here. Attached is This Many Boyfriends’ video for “(I Should Be A) Communist”, the A-side to “How Is This Even A Job?” which is on the compilation. I chose to attach their video over the other numerous great bands on this compilation simply because I happened to listen to them while driving today.

The schedule for Indietracks has been released, and upon first glance it appears that I will be reaching levels of jelly for which we have not yet developed technology to accurately record.

Veronica Falls, Go Sailor, Gold-Bears, Tender Trap, Allo Darlin’, The June Brides, Girls Names, This Many Boyfriends, Sea Lions, 14 Iced Bears and so many more, if there is not an ocean separating you from Derbyshire, I really can’t fathom a proper excuse to keep you from this. The thing I love about this (despite being having to be a mere 4,653 miles, or 7,489 kilometers for you funny folk) is it essentially gives me a list of bands I really need to listen to and check out. When you look at the big picture I’m really not that knowledgeable of indie pop at all so I like using schedules like these as a sort of guide of where to learn from next. And while I listen and analyze, I’ll do my best to share my thoughts with you! At the top of my list is Language of Flowers and The Rosie Taylor Project so stick around, yo.

This Many Boyfriends released their latest single “Starling” on February 20th. Like the rest of their stuff, it’s completely fun, happy, and just awesome. These guys are one of my favorite indie pop bands and they just finished up touring with Allo Darlin’ and The Cribs, so the next logical step for them would be to come to Dallas, right? I wish.

It’s really rad going to Facebook page and seeing all their fancy Leeds lingo. I wish people would describe my bands as “mint” and “ace”.
